Black Mountain of Maine: Capital campaign project for snowmaking improvements

Kick off began in June & the intention is to have everything in place for the 2025/26  ski  season!
Thanks to TWO incredible grants, that will cover almost 90% of the project, we’re not just prepping for this winter—we’re also planning huge improvements for the future of the mountain!

Black Mountain of Maine was awarded a NBRC Grant which will allow to install a total of 14 new fixed snow guns on the St John and Allagash trails. Plus, they secured a CDS Grant which will enable to double the size of our snowmaking pond and install brand-new snowmaking pumps with a state-of-the-art pump house. This means better snow and earlier opening on everyone’s favorites! These upgrades will make the snowmaking capabilities next level.

Here’s where we are in the process:

Things are moving right along with our $1.2 million snowmaking project—& we’re getting closer every day to making it a reality for the 2025/26 ski season!

Every donation still counts!

As a thank-you, all donors will be recognized on a plaque displayed near the base lodge fireplace—a lasting  tribute to your support. Your tax-deductible donation will ensure we can complete these upgrades and continue providing affordable, family-friendly winter recreation for the River Valley and beyond.
