Telluride proposed replacements for lifts 7 and 8The purpose of the proposed projects is to improve the guest experience at TSR by addressing existing lift and operational challenges and expanding recreational opportunities on the GMUG. Specifically, the proposed action is needed to: - Upgrade lift infrastructure with modern technology to ensure safety, reliability and increase uphill capacity;
- Add ski terrain variety within the TSR’s existing operational boundary;
- Improve skier egress for a range of ability levels, particularly beginner and intermediate abilitynlevel skiers and riders;
- Upgrade existing on-mountain dining facilities;
- Provide an additional beginner mountain bike trail and improved bike park connectivity to enhance the mountain biking experience at TSR;
- Provide a permanent interactive historical timeline for skiers and riders to explore, offering a unique skiing and riding experience at TSR; and
- Promote forest health and resilience through selective vegetation removal (glading) in areas previously approved for treatment, consistent with the Spruce Beetle Epidemic and Aspen Decline Management Response and the 2015 TSR Forest Vegetation Management Plan.
