Sunkid at Mountain Planet 2026
Year-round leisure fun for families The Sunkid success story began 30 years ago with the invention of an innovative moving carpet for ski schools—the world-famous "Magic Carpet"—of which more than 4,200 systems have since been installed. Today, a comprehensive range of products, overall concepts, and services positions Sunkid as the primary partner for year-round family attractions worldwide, both on and off the mountains. At Mountain Planet 2026, visitors were able to experience the original Moving Carpet in its current "Type N" generation live and receive professional consultations. Guests could see for themselves the most versatile transport solution for beginner snow areas, as well as bike parks, sledding hills, tubing facilities, water parks, and more. The project in Livigno (Italy), consisting of two systems for the Olympic "Aerials and Moguls Park," demonstrated this year—much like other major event projects before it (e.g., boat conveyor belts for Paris 2024 or Tokyo 2020)—how the Sunkid Magic Carpet covers the widest possible range: as a customized system, it offers both winter sports beginners and top-level athletes reliably safe and comfortable transportation. Another highlight at the Sunkid trade fair stand was the Mountain Coaster. Visitors had the opportunity to take a seat in the modern and comfortable bobsled. In many locations, the current Generation 2.0 is in operation year-round. Three systems have already opened in France—in Chamrousse, Bernex, and La Clusaz. With solutions like these, Sunkid helps operators achieve sustainability goals by utilizing existing infrastructure year-round in already developed tourism regions. Sunkid presented smart digital solutions for both of the above products to the international audience at Mountain Planet 2026: the "ABC pro" digital maintenance plan for existing Sunkid Magic Carpets, and the "MOCO pro" app. The latter reduces documentation work for toboggan run operators and makes maintenance processes more efficient and transparent. Furthermore, an exciting piece of play equipment from the "Wood’n’Fun" ball track product line invited young visitors to explore and play.
