Loveland Ski Area: Steven Willson Groomer of the Year

Steven’s story is one of dedication, hard work, and continual growth. He started on a night facilities crew, moved into snowmaking, and earned every opportunity for seat time in a snowcat. Today, with experience spanning Colorado, Australia, and New Zealand, he brings that knowledge and expertise back home to Loveland.

Over the past six years, Steven has played a key role in shaping the skiing experience at Loveland, from race venues and training courses to beginner terrain. His work behind the scenes helps create the consistent, high-quality snow surfaces our guests and athletes rely on every day. Whether coordinating race venues with ski patrol, lift operations, and snowmaking teams or fine-tuning a beginner slope, Steven’s attention to detail and safety-first mindset stand out.

This award recognizes what we already know on the mountain: Steven is one of those rare professionals who elevates everyone and everything around him.
