Mont-Sainte-Anne: Mountain Improvements Update

Beaupré, A new milestone has been reached in the transformation of Mont-Sainte-Anne with the progress of construction on the future Évolution Express lift, a flagship project in the mountain's modernization plan that will replace the South Express and La Tortue chairlifts.

Its name perfectly reflects its mission: "Évolution" represents the major transformation of the ski area and the arrival of a new generation of infrastructure, while "Express" highlights the speed and performance it will deliver to visitors.

A New Way to Experience the Mountain

The Évolution Express will replace the South Express and La Tortue lifts, creating a new strategic route that will connect the mountain's different sectors more efficiently.

Strategically designed to enhance the overall guest experience, this next-generation lift will provide:
  • Faster and smoother access to the various areas of the ski resort;
  • A seamless connection between the North and South sides via the Gros Vallon sector;
  • Greater accessibility to the beginner area and family zones on the North Side;
  • Direct and optimized access to La Familiale, Le Gros Vallon, and La Ferréoloise trails;
  • A more comfortable ride thanks to modern technology designed to meet the needs of today's skiers.
The Évolution Express will become the first visible symbol of Mont-Sainte-Anne's modernization.

A Lift That Matches Mont-Sainte-Anne's Ambitions

Designed to improve the skiing experience across the entire mountain, the Évolution Express will combine speed, comfort, and performance, making travel between the resort's different sectors easier than ever.

Key features of the future lift include:
  • High-speed detachable 6-passenger chairlift, providing increased capacity for guests;
  • Integrated weather protection bubbles, offering enhanced comfort during colder or windier days;
  • 97 carriers operating on the line, ensuring continuous and efficient service;
  • Operating speed of 5 metres per second, allowing guests to reach key areas of the mountain more quickly;
  • Ride time of approximately 7 minutes and 28 seconds, maximizing time spent on the slopes.
Construction Is Underway

Clearing of the lift corridor is now complete. Earthmoving and excavation work for the lower terminal began two weeks ago, including the reshaping of the former L'Envolée trail area.

Similar work will also take place at the summit to prepare for the future upper terminal. Construction will continue throughout the summer and fall.

The South Express and La Tortue chairlifts will remain fully operational throughout the upcoming winter season. They will only be dismantled after the Évolution Express has been fully commissioned and placed into service, ensuring uninterrupted operations and a smooth transition for visitors.
