Solitude Mountain Resort: Summer Capital Projects

New Snowmaking Pipeline

Crews have been working hard to install a new pipeline to import water for our snowmaking system. For years, Solitude has been drawing water from Big Cottonwood Creek — and pulling leaves and other debris into our snowmaking system. The new pipeline pulls water from a pond just below Twin Lakes Reservoir, a much cleaner water source. The pipeline will improve our snowmaking capabilities, letting us lay down base more reliably and expand our trails and lift network once we open.

Honeycomb Canyon Wyssen Towers

Four new Wyssen Towers were recently installed on the east face of Honeycomb Canyon, joining four previous towers. These towers allow patrol to remotely mitigate avalanche hazards in extremely difficult terrain, improving patrol safety and allowing them to open terrain more quickly.

New Solitude Bike Park Trail & Solitude Village Pavers

Solitude Bike Park continues to grow with another trail under construction. Emerald Alley sections are scheduled to open this fall. This new trail will be a green freeride trail. We continue to replace the pavers in Solitude Village with a more durable (and better looking) surface. All restaurants remain open during construction.
