Vail Mountain Resort: 2 new charlift projects approve by forest service

The proposed project (proposed action) is located on the Eagle-Holy Cross Ranger District of the White River National Forest (WRNF), within Vail’s existing special use permit (SUP) area. The proposed action includes Eagle’s Nest beginner experience improvements, replacement of chairlift (Chair) 21, Two Elk ridgeline improvements, removal of Surface Lift (Wapiti) 24, and the reroute of the mountain top road (Mountain Top Bypass Road). These actions are collectively referred to as the Vail Eagle’s Nest and Chair 21 Upgrades categorical exclusion (CE).
