Bartholet: Fidaz aerial tramway: One of the first RopeTwin projects in SwitzerlandThe new Fidaz cable car, which belongs to the municipality of Flims, is operated fully automatically in tourist mode - without staff on site, but with monitoring via the nearby Foppa control center of the Weisse Arena Gruppe. More than just transporting milk The main purpose, of course, remains alpine farming - up to 650 liters of milk (morning and evening) are transported down to the valley in a tank every day using the reinforced panoramic gondola. The seats are made of robust plastic - practical and hygienic, so that everything stays fresh even when transporting milk. And if an animal is injured, the gondola can be replaced by a maintenance vehicle - flexible and functional! Tickets simple and secure Journeys can now be conveniently booked online in the timeslot system - digitally, easily and reliably. Technology meets design Two elegant 8-passenger panoramic gondolas, designed by Design Studio F. A. Porsche, transport up to 70 people per hour. The journey takes around 7 minutes - with magnificent views of the mountains. Assembly with helicopter power Large, pre-assembled components are currently being flown spectacularly into place by helicopter. The existing dairy cable car will remain in operation until then and is expected to be replaced by the new system in February. Stable winter weather is crucial - because installation can only continue safely in good conditions. Start of operation in spring If everything goes according to plan, the new Fidaz cable car will start operating in May - as one of the first RopeTwin projects in Switzerland. A real pioneering project that combines technology, alpine farming and tourism in a charming way. |
