Ski Butternut: What is new at 'The Nut' for the 22/23 Season

Snowmaking Upgrades Pipe: We are in the process of installing approximately 6,000 feet of new snowmaking pipe.

Snowmaking Upgrades Air: Four of our seven electric compressors will be fully rebuilt which will provide additional air capacity. This is a project that has been in the planning process for a couple of years working with the compressor manufacturer, an expert in VFD drives/controls, and our local electrician.

Snowmaking Upgrades Guns: We have purchased 45 new highly efficient snow guns to add to the system.

Snowmaking Upgrades Additional: new hoses and hydrants are being installed on multiple trails.

These upgrades will increase our snowmaking capacity and make the entire system more efficient and reliable. Once complete, we will be able to use less energy to output more air/water and increase the speed of starting the system which will allow for more run time and increased productivity. In summary, more snow faster.

Grooming: We have purchased a new Prinoth Bison X groomer to add to our fleet of corduroy cutters. This new generation of groomers are more fuel efficient, maneuverable, and reliable. This new machine will help us to form features in the Terrain Parks and resurface the trails with freshly groomed snow each night.

Additional Projects: IT upgrades to servers/switches, additional security cams, lodge/building painting, RFID gates at the Paddy Wagon chair, digital signage installation, and software upgrades.

New Products: We have added a new midweek Season Passes and a new Two-day Lift Ticket due to popular demand. These items can be loaded onto your existing Reload Cards via the online store so that you can skip the ticket window and head directly to the lifts.

Upper Lodge Patio: The existing pavers have been removed and replaced with stamped concrete with radiant heat.  Flowers bed walls have been refaced, and new foliage has been planted.

Upper Lodge Walkway: The walkway to the Upper Lodge has been regraded and infilled with new stone which should allow for better drainage and a smoother walking surface.
