Next round of public engagement for Burnaby Mountain Gondola

TransLink is beginning its latest round of public engagement for the gondola project and is inviting the public to learn more about the updated route, terminal design, customer use, as well as outlining the terms of reference for an environmental review. The Burnaby Mountain Gondola is part of the Mayors’ Council’s 10-year Access for Everyone Plan. This latest phase of engagement is part of the advancement of the business planning stage for the project.

Until Nov. 19th, people can learn more about the future of this exciting transportation project and share feedback through an online survey at https://www.translink.ca/gondola

The proposed Burnaby Mountain Gondola will provide a straight-line route between SkyTrain (Production Way-University Station) and SFU’s Burnaby campus. It will result in shorter travel times, more frequent trips, increased ridership, reduced noise and emissions and greater winter reliability. It is estimated that 25,000 trips are made up and down Burnaby Mountain daily. A gondola can move more people per hour than other forms of transportation, with lower carbon emissions and with lower operating costs than buses.
