Switzerland: Experience a new cabriolet feeling between Zermatt and Furi

The new cableway between Zermatt and Furi has been in operation since November 2023. With its modern design and passage through pillar number one, which is round for structural reasons, it is an eye-catcher for visitors from near and far. From May 2024, it will boast another highlight - the Rooftop-Ride on the top of the cable car for a unique cabriolet feeling.

The Rooftop-Ride will be used for the first time on the 2nd of May. While the parallel Matterhorn Express is undergoing maintenance between 2 May and 15 June 2024, the new aerial tramway will transport all guests between Zermatt and Furi and will be in daily operation. This offers the ideal opportunity to book a ride on the cableway's balcony as an add-on. Guests can use a rooftop ride ticket for CHF 10 to get through an additional turnstile, which takes them up to the roof of the aerial tramway via a staircase in the station. The journey between Zermatt and Furi then offers a unique and airy convertible experience with a view of the Matterhorn. The new offer, which is an optional part of the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing route, is another highlight on the cross-border cable car journey around the Matterhorn.

The Rooftop-Ride is also a special experience during the summer months outside of the Matterhorn Express maintenance periods. The ride, including the balcony, can be booked for a maximum of 15 people as an exclusive and private experience, crowning a unique occasion such as a marriage proposal with an unforgettable highlight.
