Belleayre: Investing to Improve The Guest Experience

Ongoing snowmaking upgrades for the upcoming season

Belleayre will add 20 fully automated SMI Polecat fan guns on Dot Nebel, one of the most popular trails at Belleayre. These upgrades will enable to produce more snow in less time and with less effort.  Once the mountain’s conditions reach optimal snowmaking temperatures and humidity levels, the advanced system will automatically activate the SMI Polecat fan guns. Each gun will be fine-tuned based on its specific conditions, allowing all the automatic guns to start making snow very quickly.

By investing in this cutting-edge, energy-efficient technology, Belleayre will be prepared to meet the challenges of the unpredictable weather patterns experienced in recent years. As conditions change, the system will continuously adjust, enhancing snow quality and increasing snow coverage.

The existing HKD tower guns on Dot Nebel will be relocated to other trails, replacing older equipment still in use.

Additionally, we Belleayre is replacing 30,000 feet of snowmaking pipe. Over the past few years, Belleayre has added or replaced over 130,000 feet of pipe, ensuring our infrastructure remains robust and efficient.

The Discovery Lodge serves as the primary arrival point for guests visiting Belleayre Mountain, offering a comprehensive range of services including ticket sales, ski & snowboard equipment rentals, tuning and repairs, food services, and snowsports lessons. Additionally, the lodge hosts various offseason events such as concerts, weddings, and community gatherings.

The current expansion will add 28,600 square feet to the existing lodge. This project involves removing the existing steel-framed fabric rental structure to make way for the new addition. The ground floor will feature a state-of-the-art rental center, while the second floor will offer additional open seating space with glass and wood finishes that complement the lodge’s aesthetic.

Other enhancements include an expanded kitchen and serving area, new stair and ramp additions, upgraded doors and windows, and increased restroom facilities. These improvements are designed to elevate the guest experience and support future growth at Belleayre.
